but we had Easter Holidays here which meant super uber long weekend like from Friday (Good Friday) to Monday (Easter Monday) which is good i guess plus! plus! they decided to put the Mid semester break after the long weekend so now it brings us to here! somewhere in the middle of the Mid Semester break.
So kool things!!! For Easter my Entomology Lecturer have us eggs... Stick Insect eggs!!! Woots!! So Kool rite? i'm so amused... but apparently it could take ages for the thing to hatch.... ok maybe 3 to 4 months? so thats the bummer part of it.. but its ok.. oh and she gave us a real chocolate egg for compensation..hahah...
Oooooh besides that i went shopping. oh i know i shouldn't but i can't resist... me and my housemate went to D.F.O... Direct Factory Outlet... its this palce where they sell last seasons stuff and like have discounts up to 70%!!! and its a huge ass place..... and as wit all things in aussie its located in the middle of nowhere... so i bought meself a pair of black converse sneakers which i wanted from before i left Singapore... and that bag was some vintage find from a flea market.. its old i like it.... its just there coz i thought the shoes needed a fren...
i bought a polo tee... and 4 t-shirts and a pair of pinstriped berms... all for under 100 bucks.... i'm mightily amused...
so that brings us to tuesday... i went to the Queensland Museum on Tuesday... main purpose was to get free stick insect nymphs!! well i can't be waiting for my egg to hatch can i... the museum only gives the stick insect away to people who stay in the area... which makes me eligable... i got 5 nymphs...
3 of them are Children's Stick Insect.. they are named after a guy named Children, not cause they are really for children... and the other 2 are Goliath Stick Insects.. huge ass insects they will become that is if they manage to grow into adulthood.... so now i have these babies munching happily on eucalypt leaves... so cute!! pics!!!
Goliath Stick Insect Nymph.. Not yet an adult
Another Goliath Nymph
